Wireless Sensors from Andover

TAC is offering its customers a complete line of wireless temperature devices: transmitters, receivers, and high-power repeaters.

When it comes to temperature monitoring, wireless sensors solve two of your biggest installation headaches: the high cost and the difficulty of wiring. With wireless sensors, you can eliminate the wired infrastructure normally required to monitor temperature; i.e., the conduit, the wire, not to mention wire install labor. And with wireless temperature sensors, you have the flexibility of locating or relocating them anywhere to optimize system performance, increase customer comfort, adapt to evolving floor plans, and preserve original architecture.

Today, wireless systems are in big demand in banks, hospitals, government institutions, manufacturing facilities, and other sites worldwide. Here’s just a sample of where you can find this new technology in temperature sensing:

• Office Buildings, Retail Locations, Schools and Universities
Temperature measurement is important in controlling equipment and maintaining occupant comfort in these settings. And wireless sensors can easily accommodate ever-changing floor plans.

• Museums, Historical Buildings, Atriums
Buildings incorporating glass or marble walls, high ceilings, or sealed wall construction present significant challenges in a standard wired sensor installation. These situations, as well as today’s strict regulations concerning historical preservation, adapt well to the installation of wireless sensors.

• Clean Rooms, Environmental Chambers, Laboratories, Archival Storage
Critical temperatures in labs and research area can be closely monitored using wireless sensors that instantly transmit a signal if temperatures exceed specifications.

• Restaurants, Supermarkets, Convenience Stores, Food Warehouses
Sites such as these where freezers, refrigeration cases, and steam tables are prevalent require temperature monitoring to meet government HACCP regulations. Wireless sensors are perfect for these hard-to-access areas that require constant, automated monitoring.

TAC’s Wireless Sensor Choices
Choose one of TAC’s four wireless temperature sensor models that best fits your particular application:

  • Standard room sensor in a basic enclosure
  • Standard room sensor housed in a larger thermostat-style enclosure
  • Room sensor in thermostat housing with slider and override button. (Allows occupants to adjust temperature setpoint and/or switch occupancy mode.)
  • Transmitter with terminal block for an external thermistor. (For use with pipe, duct, and other external sensors for applications beyond room temperature sensing.)

All models operate on a lithium battery, which provides over five years battery life, and have an open-field range of 2500 feet.
